Artist Statement:

This is a variant of a graphics pattern which appeared on one of the earliest computer graphics systems, the PDP-1 at MIT. The basic pattern is the graph of the x-y coordinates Y=Exclusive-Or(X, T) for successive values of the parameter T. Squares are “eaten away” by a series of four smaller squares along the diagonal. This picture incorporates fifteen of these patterns out of phase in different colors.
