The visualization of 3D fractal objects is very difficult because they are not made up of polygons and normals are not defined. John Hart developed the raytracer which uses distance estimation to intersect the ray with the object and approximate the normals. My intention with the animation controlling software that I wrote, is to produce a ‘dramatic and dynamic exploration of this particular fractal. Original music and audio effects by Laurie Spiegel. Mathematical research by Lou Kauffman. Visual Leadership by Tom DeFanti.
