Bio:
Hannah Wolfe is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Colby College. Her artwork focuses on the relationship between body and technology, giving computers and robots biological qualities. Her work has been shown at ISEA, NIME, CHI and Contemporary Istanbul as well as published in IEEE Transactions in Affective Computing. She earned a PhD in Media Arts and Technology and a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research spans human robot interaction, affective computing, computational creativity, and media arts.

Abstract Summary:“Cacophonic Choir,” an interactive art installation, addresses the ways that sexual assault survivors’ experiences are distorted by digital and mass media and its effect. The installation is composed of distributed agents in space that individually respond by becoming visually bright, semantically coherent, and sonically clear, revealing original testimonies of survivors.
