Bio:
Soraya Braz is a multimedia artist and researcher of art-technology and digital culture. She graduated in Fine Arts from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (USP) and holds a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts from the Institute of Arts of UNESP. In 2016, she developed with the artist Fabio FON the project Poetic Automatics, which aims to produce textual experiments based on robots of conversation, which are systems of artificial intelligence that simulate a conversation, such as those established between humans. In 2015 she carried out the Tractos Project, also with Fabio FON, which proposed the creation of tactile-sonoro-interactive maps in different regions bordering São Paulo, from the perspective of the living in these regions. The project was carried out in the Grajaú, Ilha do Bororé, Itaquera and Pirajuçara (Embu das Artes) regions. Soraya Braz and Fabio FON have already produced works such as Roaming (2007), Grampo (2007), Captas (2010) and Via Invisível (2011), which constitute a series of poetic approaches on cell phone uses, behaviors and implications. It is also authored by both the work Deliberator (2014) produced from the proponent’s master’s research on the diffusion implications of new digital manufacturing techniques. She participates in the research group cAt – science / ART / technology – UNESP, having participated in the recent work Sopro (2015). She is an artist and / or speaker at national and international arts and related events such as FILE (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre), #Art – Brasília (UnB), FACTORS ( UFSM, Santa Maria – RS), CSO – Creators About other works (UL, Lisbon – Portugal), ARTECH (University of Algarve, Faro – Portugal) and V International Conference on the Image (Freie Universität Berlin, Berlin – Germany).
